Post a successful trial in its Metro and Express stores, Tesco has started to roll out International Calling Cards across its stores in the UK.
* The calling cards can be used from mobiles, landlines or pay phones, to over 60 countries at around 2 pence for a minute.
* According to the retailer the International Calling Cards market is worth GBP 250 million. Tesco plans to offer this card across all its stores by end of 2010.

Mark Horrobin, Chief Operating Officer of Tesco Telecom, stated, "Customers will be able to go into any of our stores, pick up a card and be certain there are no hidden charges – no disconnection fees, no rounding-up charges, no maintenance fees. The majority of operators in this market are relatively small operators. It has not changed much in the past ten years or so, so we think we can make a big impact".
