Fashion retailer Gap is opening its first store in China today and will launch three more outlets in the country over the next few weeks. The first store is a flagship for the retailer, situated at the Hong Kong Plaza in Shanghai, whilst in a couple of weeks another store will open in the city at the Venture Tech building.
Two further stores in Beijing will be opened later this week, with Gap planning further expansion if these initial properties prove successful.
Lorenzo Moretti, Managing Director of Gap China, commented: “Each store offers customers great service by a team of highly-trained staff.
“Greeters welcome Gap customers at the entrance and each collection has dedicated specialists to assist shoppers. All four stores offer Denim Fit sessions by appointment.”
Gap has recruited world-famous photographer Annie Leibovitz to take campaign shots for the launch which is themed “Lets Gap Together”, celebrating Chinese and American co-operation.
The Hong Kong Plaza store has 12,270 sq ft retail space in one of the busiest shopping destinations in the whole country.
