US-based convenience store chain Wawa will open five Central Florida stores in five weeks starting 18 July 2012, with the first store located directly across from Sea World in Orlando.

The five stores in Florida are located at: 5910 Central Florida Pkwy, Orlando; 4700 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando; 2184 E. Irlo Bronson, Kissimmee; 2499 N. Orange Blossom, Trail Kissimmee; and 2500 Silver Star Road, Orlando.

Wawa chief executive officer Howard Stoeckel said the company can't wait to open its doors to its new Florida family.

"As each location opens, we will further solidify our commitment to filling a void in our new Florida customers' lives, providing them with a level of convenience and appetite appeal our customers have come to rely on us for," Stoeckel added.

The Pennsylvania-based retailer plans to open a total of six stores in the Orlando area this year, and will open its first Tampa stores in 2013.

Wawa currently operates more than 595 convenience stores in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.
