| Chinese retailer Five Star partners with Assurant Solutions |

Chinese home electronics and appliance retailer Jiangsu Five Star has into a partnership with specialty insurer Assurant Solutions. Under this five-year contract, Assurant Solutions will provide customers of Best Buy's Chinese subsidiary with extended protection for electronic devices and appliances. Five Star chief executive Nicolas Wang said the company's one of the strategic targets is to provide the best service available for Chinese consumers. "Five Star will now be able to provide consumers with more variety and more competitively priced service protection products," Wang added. "Assurant Solutions' successful experience with Best Buy in Canada and Mexico will be a great reference for their collaboration with Five Star." Nanjing-based Five Star operates stores in seven Chinese provinces and employs more than 23,000 people. The company became part of retail major Best Buy in May 2006. The insurer serves as the exclusive provider of extended protection products and services for more than 200 retail stores in mainland China. |
