Reliance Brands, part of Indian business conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), plans to open 40 new stores by March 2013, as part of it’s expansion plans.
The company is also looking to partner with other international chains to further its expansion, reported Fashion United.
Reliance Brands has inked a exclusive 20-year franchise agreement with UK clothing company Supergroup in July 2012, to launch the Superdry brand in India.
Reliance Brand chief executive Darshan Mehta was quoted by the website as saying that, "Our present aim is to have profitable stores which would enable us to attain overall profitability, a few years down the line."
The company is engaged in retailing and distribution of apparel, footwear and luxury products and operates 1,300 stores of which most are supermarkets.
